Parent Association

The Parents’ Association plays an important role throughout the school year. They support the principal, staff and Board of Management in carrying out their activities. They may suggest ideas or activities that may make a positive contribution to the school community. The Parents’ Association is, above all, a group of parents supporting one another in their child’s journey through the primary school years.

The Parents’ Association Committee is a voluntary group made up of parents from the school. The Committee is selected at the annual AGM. There are also two Parent Representatives (one male and one female), who sit on the Board of Management of the school. The Parent Representatives can bring forward issues to the Board of Management that parents would like addressed.

The Parents’ Association Committee organises fundraising and social events, which contribute to the positive way in which the school is managed.

As a parent/guardian you are an automatic member of our Parents Association. The Parents Association is run by an executive of parents/guardians.

The Parent Association committee and members are elected at the AGM held in Term 1 each year.

Your ideas and support will be crucial in helping to make the Parents Association a success. From time to time during the year the Parents Association run meetings, talks, events and fundraisers. These contribute greatly to the social life of the school. There are also a means of getting to know new people while at the same time making a real contribution to your child’s education.

When you give time to the school you help your child; when you give time to your child you help the school.

Remember: you are the Association so please do get involved

Alternatively, you can contact the Parents’ Association Committee through the school office.
