Local History of Carlow Competition winner
Published on May 21, 2024
We are thrilled to announce that one of our 5th class pupils Muireann B recently came 3rd in the yearly Local History of Carlow competition run by Richard Codd and Carlow Museum. Muireann was the worthy recipient of 3rd place out of 170 projects in total and was presented with her certificate and prize last Friday 17th May in Carlow Museum. Her project was based on the history of her number one love ‘The Fighting Cocks GAA Club’ and went in depth to its origins and olden days. Muireann’s project will be on display in Carlow Museum for the next few months so be sure to get in and have a look at it.
Congratulations also to the rest of the 5th Class pupils who also entered this competition. We had projects about The Dolmen, St Mullins, Tullow, Duckett’s Grove, Huntington Castle and many many more that were all excellent and worthy of the recognition they received.
